BETOWOOD BOTTOM PLATE
In order to place a Betowood wood-concrete fence, in addition to concrete posts, bottom plates and rebate parts are also required. These anthracite-colored bottom plates can be custom-made, so that they can be used in any garden. Our advice is to place these bottom plates about 4 to 5 centimeters in the ground.

With these anthracite-colored Betowood bottom plates, a durable fence can be made in combination with the Betowood concrete posts and rebate parts. By placing this bottom plate, the wood does not come into contact with the ground, which benefits the lifespan. The bottom plates have a smooth finish on both sides.
These bottom plates have a length of 224 cm, so that they fall into the trench (2 cm) of the concrete pile on both sides. This also ensures a sturdy construction.
A complete garden screen made of spruce rebate parts, including a cover slat, is available for the Betowood concrete posts and bottom plates. This is tailor-made for the Betowood system, so that a completely closed fence can be made quickly and easily.
The groove of these posts is approximately 2.9 cm wide, so that blank and impregnated Douglas fir log cabin and rhombus profiles can also be mounted. These must then be trimmed. It is also possible to shorten the bottom plate. This can be done with a power cutter or stone cutter.

Each type of material has certain properties. These are often wrongly seen as lower quality. At TimberIreland.ie we think it is important to inform you about this in advance. Chalk
Concrete contains lime which can ‘bleed out’ if it is placed outside. This causes white spots and streaks. These diminish over time, because the lime has then been completely removed from the concrete, but it can also be prevented by treating it with a concrete coating.
Rip
Concrete is particularly durable and strong. However, it is possible that cracks occur during transport or installation. Because the concrete is provided with reinforcing steel, these cracks have no influence on the quality and construction strength of these products. To reduce the visibility of the cracks, we recommend providing the concrete with a concrete coating.
Discoloration
Anthracite concrete products contain carbon that provides the color. If these products are placed outside, the dye will run and the anthracite color will become increasingly lighter. After about two years, the concrete is light gray. Do you want to prevent this? Then treat the concrete with concrete coating.
