Product description
Keruing Fence Panel
Keruing is the value-driven tropical hardwood — denser than European species, more affordable than premium tropicals, and well-suited to general construction and exterior use. Sourced from managed Southeast Asian forests and stocked in our yard for delivery across Ireland.
Why Keruing?
Keruing earns its place by offering hardwood density and durability at sensible prices. With a density of around 740 kg/m³ and Durability Class 3, it gives a service life of 15 years and beyond when properly treated and detailed. The red-brown tones suit both contemporary and traditional projects, and the timber is versatile enough to use in fencing, general construction, and exterior elements where premium tropical hardwoods would be over-specified.
Installation guidance
Keruing benefits from careful detailing. Pre-drill all fixings and use stainless-steel A2 or A4 fasteners. Some resin bleed may occur in warm conditions — this is normal and can be wiped off with white spirit if it appears in a visible location.
Finishing & maintenance
Keruing performs best with a protective oil or stain — apply within the first few months of installation and refresh every two or three years. We stock the products that pair correctly with tropical hardwoods — ask us if you’re unsure which to specify.
