    Thermowood Thermally Modified Ayous 21mm x 140mm Triple Slatted Profile

    Are you looking for sustainable and special thermowood cladding for your wall or fence? Our thermally modified Ayous thermowood is thermo-treated, which ensures that the wood becomes more durable so that you can enjoy it for longer. These special 21mm x140mm planks have a triple slatted profile and can be mounted on one side. The working width of these profiles is 129 mm. The cladding is ideally suited as wall cladding or as fencing material.

    Thermally modified Ayous

    The wood is heated with steam to over 200 degrees during the thermal treatment. After this treatment, the Ayous timber can be compared to the hardwood of durability class 1. Thermowood Ayous cladding profiles have a beautiful, warm colour that will turn grey over time. Thermowood cladding is 100% ecological, dimensionally stable, environmentally friendly, and has good resistance to wood rot.

    Triple Slatted profile

    These Danish weatherboards have three waves and are 140 mm wide and 21 mm thick. Mount the fcladding profiles horizontally. Keep the bottom plank at least 10 mm free on the underside when mounting horizontally. Add vertical battens every 30 cm from centre to centre when mounting on the wall or a building. Just so you know, these planks have a one-sided, visible side. Use stainless steel round head nails of 45 mm length or stainless steel screws to prevent the wood acids from reacting to the material. Ensure the round head nails float on the wood and are not hammered into it. Always pre-drill Ayous wood! The steam process makes the wood brittle, so transport it carefully!

    Treating Ayous

    Keep your Ayous beautifully coloured by treating it with a good Osmo or Woca oil.. Choose Woca Exterior oil for the most natural look possible. This is available in various colours. With the oil, seeing that your wood has been treated is almost impossible. The oil slows down the greying of the wood, so it retains its beautiful colour. Repeat this treatment every 2 to 3 years with a layer of oil. We suggest you use the colour teak because it offers the best protection against the sun and, therefore, against discolouration.
